Something about You (FBI/US Attorney Series #1)

Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) - Julie James My reactions while reading this book were of two types. A) Haha, Cameron and Jack are so funny and cute together!B) What the heck just happened? So, these are the two reactions that stuck with me throughout the whole book. I must say that Something about you is damn entertaining and hilarious. And believe me, you will love Cameron and Jack. Their witty banter will keep you filled till the very end! “Cameron threw her hands up in frustration. “What is this so- called ‘look’?” Whatever it was, she was going to have to start taking extreme measures to guard against it.Amy grinned. “You know the Tom and Jerry cartoon where Tom hasn’t eaten for days and he imagines Jerry looking like a ham? Kind of like that.” Just don't mind my three stars, I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been giving three stars to a lot of books lately. I guess I'm expecting too much from a book. Let's make it 3.5 stars, shall we? For those of you who love crime solving witty agents, this is the perfect book for you!
The Demon King (Seven Realms Series #1) - Cinda Williams Chima “History,' Mari muttered, as if she'd overheard his thoughts. 'Why do we need to know what happened before we were born?' 'So hopefully we get smarter and don't make the same mistakes again.” ____________________________________________This book was really good. Don't let my three stars dampen your spirit for reading this book. The Demon King was an enjoyable read. I cannot say that this book completely blew me away but it was surprising and interesting. Hunts Alone aka Hans Alister was an amazing protagonist! He was one of the main reasons that I liked this book. I have mixed feelings about this book. There were many instances when I kept thinking that this book was like any other book with a predictable plot and characters. It was in the end that I realized, even though it was predictable and all, I still enjoyed reading it. I took my dear time reading this one and I guess I would have liked this book more if I had read it in one sitting. Dragging this book is not a good idea. You might get bored with the characters and the plot. Well, I did. I don't know about you but I would suggest you read it quickly. It is a fast - paced book and it requires a fast - paced reader. One of the other reasons I liked this book was because of the element of magic in it. Though it didn't play a very significant role, I was hooked whenever the wizards were mentioned. I love magic and it will always intrigue me. Also, there isn't much of romance it and it was relieving. At least, I didn't have to constantly think about who ends up with who though I am curious whom one of the characters will end up with but it's not constantly on my mind :DThe main reason why I didn't give this book four or five stars is because of the story line. The characters where amazing but there wasn't a good story line to support them. It was a bit cliched and all but nothing so bad you can't read it. I hope the second installment is better than the first one. The Demon King is a good read. Not exceptional or great but good.
Tiger Lily - Jodi Lynn Anderson “Sometimes I think that maybe we are just stories. Like we may as well just be words on a page, because we're only what we've done and what we are going to do.” What can I say about this book? I am staring at my laptop screen thinking of how to put the various jumbled thoughts of mine into comprehensible words. Let me first tell you how I felt after reading Tiger Lily.1) I wanted to go to Neverland.2) I wanted to cuddle and treasure Tinker Bell.3) I wanted to scream and cry and laugh at the same time.4) I wanted to read this book again and again. Tiger Lily was a beautiful novel. I loved every bit of it. I have always loved Peter Pan and Tinker Bell and I was overjoyed when two of my favorite characters showed up in this book. And I was ecstatic when I realized that Tinker Bell was the narrator! I don't know why I picked this book of all books. I don't know what made me pick it. Maybe it was because of the synopsis or the pretty cover but there are hundreds of pretty covers and intriguing synopsis in Goodreads. I don't remember how I came across this book. I don't remember a thing except that I'm grateful to whatever force that pushed me towards this book. I'm glad I picked this book. Tiger Lily is a fifteen year old girl from a tribe called Sky Eaters who is one of the most intriguing characters I've ever come across. She's silent and strong almost like a panther, wary around her own tribe, never truly belonged in her tribe. Her tribe had shunned her, forced her to marry Giant, a brute who is despised by almost everyone in her tribe and yet she was strong. She was strong till the very end. And hopeful. When she met Peter Pan things changed. Their love wasn't sappy or typical. It wasn't like how in most stories, the girl sees the boy and falls in love immediately. No. For Tiger Lily it was different in a brighter and darker way. Love does not always come with happiness. It also comes with hurt, betrayal and other dark emotions that might change a person forever. And it changed her.One of the reasons, I loved Tinker Bell's point of view was that it shredded light not only on Tiger Lily and her emotions but on all the other characters. With Tink being the narrator, we can delve deeper into the enigmatic characters like Pan and Hook. It also added a lot of originality to this book. One the whole, Tiger Lily is much more than what I had expected. It was deep and thoughtful. It was mesmerizing and fun. It was magical.
For I Have Sinned (Charley Davidson, #3.5) - Darynda Jones A quick and an entertaining read For I have Sinned is a short novella about a woman who had died. The woman has no memory of her past and Charley Davidson aka the Grim Reaper helps the woman find out about her death. It was a little bit touching to read about the woman's death. This novella also helps us view Charley from a deceased person's point of view which I found very interesting. Charley is the same as ever; beautiful, kind and cocky. And of course, she's glowing. Mr. Enigma aka Reyes popped in and out of this book and from the dead woman's point of view I enjoyed reading about Charley and Reyes together. It was different and really sweet :)____________________________________________ My Charley Davidson reviews: First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1)For I have Sinned (Charley Davidson, #1.5)Second Grave on the left (Charley Davidson, #2)Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson, #3)
Wait for You - Jennifer L. Armentrout, J. Lynn "“As long as the sun’s shining, shit can’t be that bad.” This book was really good. I could have given it four or five stars but something stopped me. Maybe it was because of the characters or the cliched concept. The first half of the book was really entertaining. I enjoyed reading the first half. And if you'd asked me to rate the first half I would have given it five stars. But I cannot do that, can I? The second half seemed trite and I felt that the characters were kind of annoying. I didn't understand much of Avery in the second half.I have to say that Jennifer L. Armentrout creates the best memorable and lovable characters ever! I loved Cam and Avery despite them getting all confusing in the second half.Meet AveryAvery is starting college far away from her old life. She's starting a new life in West Virginia trying to forget about her past. Something terrible had happened to her when she was fourteen and that's the memory she's running away from. Then, she meets Cam - he's everything she'd thought he wasn't. And meet CamCam was the perfect guy. I don't know how JLA creates these perfect guys! Cam is really easy - going, funny, cocky and of course sexy. He also had a past. A past he's trying to forget too. The characters were awesome. The author created two amazing leads but I think she could have done more to the story line. I found it very trite. Same thing happening to a different person in a different way. I mean, when you create awesome characters there should be a strong story line to support them. That's what I feel was missing in this book. Everything was really good except for the story line. If your new to contemporary romance novels, then I would suggest you to go with this book first. It is a very good book. The reason I didn't like it as much as I thought I would was because I've read too many new adult contemporaries and hence, I found it predictable. Other than that, I think this is a really good book.Oh, and I'm sure you'll fall in love with cookies as soon as you start this book :)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire Sáenz Do you remember the feeling you get when you watch the sun rise or set?Do you remember the feeling you get when you're so happy that you felt like flying?Do you remember the feeling you get when you're so sad and alone that you felt like curling yourself into a ball and wishing you never had to move on?Do you remember the feeling you get when you're so mad that you don't know why your mad?Do you remember the feeling you get when you wished you knew the mysteries of life?Well, this book brought up all those feelings. I don't know what to say about this book. There are tons of emotions warring inside me. So many that I cannot even state them. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is beautiful. The Universe is you. You need to discover yourself. And that was what this book was about. Discovering one's true self. "Someday, I'm going to discover all the secrets of the universe."
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) - Marissa Meyer Cinder - the sci-fi retelling of Cinderella! Before picking on this book, I don't know why I procrastinated so much about reading it. I loved Cinder! I loved the whole concept of androids and cyborgs! When I first started Cinder, I expected something predictable. Something more like the classic Cinderella story. And deep down inside, I thought I wouldn't like this book because it's about cyborgs and automatons. Anything that remotely resembles a robot frightens me. Or used to. I honestly don't know how I feel about them now but all I know is that I used to completely dislike robots due to some childish fear I'd developed. And I guess that fear is fading away slowly after reading Cinder. The story is about a cyborg named Cinder. Cinder seemed so human to me. She was a very moving character whom I loved very much in this book. She isn't liked by many in this book. No one likes abnormal beings and that leaves Cinder very alone. She's independent and strong, both qualities which I admire very much.Cinder is a mechanic in this story who spends her time with an android named Iko. She has two step - sisters, one who likes her for who she is and the other one despises her for who she is. She has a cruel step - mother whom I completely hated in this book. That woman seriously needs a heart transplantation! And Kai - I don't know what to say about him. He seems very vague to me but he's a good male lead. He's strong and resilient.I'm not going to elaborate about this story. I don't think I can elaborate much without giving away too many details. But I can promise you that this is one exceptional read. It tugs at your emotions when you least expect it and it makes you so mad at the injustice done to Cinder that you would want to burn those people :D I loved this book and found it very interesting. And I think this picture is beautiful!

Shadow and Bone

Shadow and Bone - Leigh Bardugo "You and I are going to change the world." What can I say about this book? There’s so much to say and so much to love about this book. Bardugo's novel Shadow and Bone struck a chord in my heart from the very beginning. I loved the prologue. I find the concept of kids falling in love and comforting each other in desolate times adorable. This book is a phenomenal piece of work. A rarity as I have never come across such a different and captivating story line in a long time. I wish I could forget what I've read and read the story again. I wish I could forget the characters and their revelations. I wish I could read this story again without knowing what awaits me. I know that will never happen because every part of this story is etched into my memory. Sigh – this book is truly phenomenal. The Story The story takes place in a land called Ravka which has been torn into two by the Shadow Fold - a vast void filled with darkness; a proof that the Grisha power has gone bad. The Grisha are the magical elite of Ravka also known as the soldiers to the Second Army. They are extraordinary people who use the Small Science of Elements. They are the magical beings of Ravka.Alina Starkov and her regiment have to cross the Shadow Fold in silent skiffs, each and every one of them armed and ready to go in a battle for life in order to get to the other side without being eaten alive by the Volcra(monstrous winged beings). But when the Volcra attack her best friend Mal, she lights up like a beacon and scares the Volcra away. And a stupefying revelation whisks Alina away from Mal, away from the place she never felt like she truly belonged. The Characters Alina Starkov A war orphan, Alina Starkov is not an exceptional female lead. She’s not strong – she’s skinny and weak and she’s not even good at her job of map – making. She always lacked. So, how did I grow to like a weak female lead like her?Correction - She is not weak. She’s stronger than one could imagine. As you keep reading, you’ll come to know what an exceptional girl she is. The reason that I loved this amazing protagonist is because of her growth into a Grisha, her hope, her courage and the discovery of her true self and potential. The Darkling "The problem with wanting is that it makes us weak." The Darkling is an enigmatic Grisha. Many people are afraid of him; of what he might do. He terrifies them. The name itself terrifies them. So, he is powerful. He’s second to the king. In fact, some might even say he’s stronger than the king. He mysterious. He comes and goes in the book stealing my heart in the process. I shall say no more. Mal Mal is Alina’s best friend since she was a child. They both had lived in a Duke’s orphanage and with Mal by her side, that awful place seemed to be a place filled with fun and fond memories. Mal seemed immature and kind of boring to me at the beginning. Then things changed abruptly and slowly I began to like him. Overall, this book took me to a world I had never imagined. It was so different from the general novels I've read. I love this book. I admired and adored Alina for being nothing – so – special. I loved Darkling for inexplicable reasons. I slowly liked Mal. I fell in love with their world even though it's not a place you can call paradise. I wish it existed somewhere in our wide world. Shadow and Bone is one of the best books I've ever read!

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1)

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) - Darynda Jones “Never knock on death's door. Ring the doorbell then run. He totally hates that.- T-shirt” First Grave on the Right is a concoction of everything. It turned the cliched story line of grim reapers into that of a novelty. Have you ever considered a grim reaper being a cocky girl with an attitude? I certainly didn't. I found the story line to be fast – paced, filled with humor and mystery. I also found the mixture of characters a little confusing but I got used to it. Jones has created an incredible character with originality - Charley Davidson. I found her to be resilient, strong, humorous and what not. Jones has done an incredible work here. I love her narration and the way she made the story flow without it getting too complicated all at once due to its many characters. Meet Charley Davidson "If I couldn't be a good example, I'd just have to be a horrible warning." Charley Davidson is the grim reaper. Not in a creepy scary way. She’s nowhere close to being creepy or scary. The story starts off with Charley waking up from her dream – where a hot entity shows up and seduces her all the time. At first, the dream part felt like a whole different story. During the day she’s an exceptional private investigator with a unique ability to communicate with the deceased – being the grim reaper and all. And at night she’s having dreams about an entity who seems very familiar but she couldn't exactly pinpoint who it was until the day the entity called her ‘Dutch’.So, she investigates who this entity is and also investigates a crime scene were three lawyers were murdered. Without Charley, I don’t think the story would have stood as a novelty. I guess the characters make the story and not the other way around. Or at least, this is how I found this book. Charley made the story, she lighted the story into a brilliant flame captivating the readers. She’s one of the best female leads I've ever come across.Meet Mr. Enigma aka Reyes Farrow “Every night in my dreams, a man appeared from the darkest recesses of my mind, as if he'd been waiting for me to fall asleep." Reyes Farrow was an enigma from the beginning so I’m not going to clear this part. It’s better if you read the book. All you need to know about him is he’s hot and sexy. The rest, read the book and find out.And meet Garret Swopes He’s another private investigator like Charley but he doesn't believe a thing about her ability in communicating with the deceased. But slowly as the story flows, he tries his best to understand her. They share cocky remarks about each other and Charley kind of likes and dislikes him at the same time and I think the feeling is mutual.Overall, The first grave on the right was a unique read. I haven’t picked up much of mystery and crime – dealing books and this surely made me want to read more. The one great aspect of this book is that Jones has managed to make this book funny and serious at the same time! There’s a lot of grins for a few pages and lot of seriousness in the next. I loved it! This is one outstanding urban fantasy read. So, in the end I am left hungry for more. Also squealing in excitement for more!____________________________________________ My Charley Davidson reviews: First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1)For I have Sinned (Charley Davidson, #1.5)Second Grave on the left (Charley Davidson, #2)Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson, #3)

Onyx (A Lux Novel)

Onyx - Jennifer L. Armentrout After reading this book, certain things have changed. The Lux series has become my favorite series ❤Daemon Black has become my favorite YA male character ❤And Jennifer L. Armentrout has become my favorite author ❤This book is amazing. It was action - filled, fast paced and filled with hot, sizzling and steamy romance. I mean, what more can you want from a sequel? Obsidian was awesome but I found Onyx much better than Obsidian. And believe me, this book does not disappoint.I couldn't put the book down and even if I managed to do that, all I kept thinking was about these kickass characters! I managed to read this book in one sitting. Jennifer L. Armentrout - you are my new favorite author. You made Onyx - the second part - the best second part ever. Normally, sequels tend to get boring as the characters get repetitive but here, all the characters were scintillating as ever. In fact, they seemed to have improved in entertaining ways. Now, be ready to be bombarded with Daemon and Katy ❤ “Say it.”“Say what?”“Tell me what you told me earlier.”“I love you.”“That’s all I ever need to hear.”“Those three words?”“Always those three words.” I don't quite understand how Jennifer's book Onyx has left me begging for more. I don't quite understand how I fell in love with her writing skills and the characters. And I don't think I need to. Some things are best left as mysteries. According to me, Onyx met all of my high expectations. I loved Katy for being strong, ebullient and resilient. Daemon Black - that very name explains it all; he couldn't be any better. The story line was very twisty and complicated - which I'm sure readers would enjoy. Everything seemed to have improved in this book. Overall, Onyx was mind - blowing and addictive!
Me Before You - Jojo Moyes We are like flames. We shine brightly even in the darkest of hours but there is a time when there isn't enough wax for the flames. In other words, enough life for our lives. Someday we will be blown out like a candle and be re-ignited again with a different wax supporting the flame. In other words, we will have a new life. “You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.” Me Before You is a moving novel. It is not a romance novel; I did not find it revolving around that concept. It is a novel about life and death and the choices you get to make in life. It is slow. It is dragging. But it is life. And that's how I found this novel. It was filled with life. It was filled with conflicting - emotions, dangerous choices, happiness and love. It's a perfect novel to make one weep like a little toddler, a perfect novel to make one look back at their life and see whether that they have lived it to their fullest. Characters Louisa Clark Lou is very fun - filled. She is bright and jovial. She also has a crazy taste in fashion. And she has a big heart. I liked Lou a lot. She was really sweet and ordinary. There's nothing exotic about her. She's simple and ordinary and normal. Lou described herself perfectly well in this novel. She was one of the invisibles. You wouldn't notice her when your walking down a street; she wouldn't catch your eye. She said this to Will and it is true. But once you get to know her, you'll love her for her normality and simplicity. And meet, Will; Will Traynor Best before: 19 March 2007 So, if I had to describe Will in one single word I would say smartass. And many other things but I just don't know how to put them into comprehensible words. Will is a quadriplegic. He cannot move is arms and legs. But he wasn't always like this. He was the guy who had it all. Money, fame, love. And in on second, he was the guy who had lost it all. But he had hopes too. That some miracle might happen and he might use his limbs again but the only miracle that happened was Lou. She stepped into his life as a care - taker and finally he had opened himself to her. He told her things he hadn't told anyone. And she did the same. They were perfect; somehow understanding each other. But they wouldn't have met if Will wasn't in a chair. He wouldn't have even glanced at her if he had his old life. That's what life and time does to you. It changes your views about people and life itself. It changes you. But in the end Life is always the best damn roller - coaster ride you've ever had! “Push yourself. Don't Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.” So open your eyesAnd,This book is amazing. It is very sad and emotional but there are many great things about this book. Read it someday when you want something quiet and normal and heart - breaking. Just Live!

Obsidian (A Lux Novel)

Obsidian - Jennifer L. Armentrout All you need in a book to make your reading experience the best one ever are:1) a swoon - worthy male lead ✓2) a kickass female lead ✓3) an awesome story line ✓This book was surprisingly good despite its kind of cliche story line. After hearing a lot of good comments about this book, I decided to pick it up. The first few chapters were disappointing due to its trite concept but then I slowly started enjoying this book. It was mainly due to the awesome characters whom I found to be very entertaining and likable.Right now, I'm not disappointed at all. In fact, I'm buzzing with excitement for the next book!Meet Katy Swartz Katy has moved away from her old life due to her father's death for a fresh start. While she's settling into her new home, she meets Daemon. Why does when the main character move to a different place does she have to meet the other main lead? I found this part to be very very cliche. But I ignored it and found the rest of the story to be amazing. “The day my internet was hooked up was better than having a hot guy check out my butt and ask for my phone number.” I really liked Katy. She was tough and resilient. Sometimes I found her to be a little annoying but you know what? Just ignore that and continue reading because this is an amazing book and you don't want to notice all these tiny factors.Meet Daemon Black “Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys.” Daemon was a complete dickhead. Katy describes him better than I do. He was really rude and annoying in the beginning but Aremtrout can make a dickhead look hawt and sexy.Daemon had his reasons for being a complete dickhead to her. And as we proceed more deeply into the story it is kind of hard not to love Daemon. The name itself screams I'm hot, love me! “I've always found that the most beautiful people, truly beautiful inside and out, are the ones who are quietly unaware of their effect." His eyes searched mine intently, and for a moment we stood there toe to toe. "The ones who throw their beauty around, waste what they have? Their beauty is only passing. It's just a shell hiding nothing but shadows and emptiness.” Katy and Daemon ignite a spark. You can feel it while you're reading it. It's hard to ignore or dislike them. The triteness of the story - line slowly fades as you keep reading. The concept is very different and if you haven't read much of YA, I would suggest you go with this book before reading something else. In the end
Robin in the Hood - Diane J. Reed ❀♣✰An enchanted and a magical read✰♣❀ Robin in the Hood was a story about dreams, love, family and magic. This book was amazingly written and I was hooked from the very beginning. It contained all the elements that would grasp and captivate a reader. The characters were scintillating and lovable. The plot was twisty with secrets, adventures and magic. I loved everything about Robin in the Hood. What is not there not love? Meet Robin "No one had ever accused me of having a heart before. How could Creek see something in me that I'd never even admitted to myself?" Robin McArthur had everything in her life. She had money that could buy her anything in the world but not the one thing she desired the most; love. And all of a sudden, her life is turned upside down when her father suffered a stroke. Money was evaporating slowly due to her dad's countless debts and Robin has no idea what to do when more debt collectors seek her for money. “Is it any wonder I became a bank robber?” said Robin. Desperate times calls desperate measures. And so began her life as a robber. Robin and her father flee from their money - ridden lives and ended up in an enchanted forest were family, love and loyalty were given utmost importance. There Robin learned many things. One of which was forgiveness. Robin is a total kickass protagonist. Robin is often very inquisitive and impulsive in nature. I found her to be very lovable. She never lost hope in desperate times and was loyal to her father no matter how many lies he'd disguised as truths. She was strong and unyielding. On the whole, she was an outstanding female lead with badass Geisha skills.Meet Creek "Creek, who'd single-handedly taught me how to value simple things. And most of all, who'd showed me that true wealth was found in people's hearts, not in their pocketbooks." Creek was strange, dangerous and beautiful. He was the one who taunted Robin to rob a bank. He was the one who taught Robin how to love and forgive. He was the one who changed her life into a magical one. Creek was also known as Turtle Shores 'Angel' because he made sure everyone was content and happy at Turtle Shores. He was a true Robin Hood; stealing money from the rich and handing it to the poor.Soon Robin joined Creek and they formed a team and robbed many more banks in order to help the people in Turtle Shores whom Robin grew to love dearly. They formed the awesome dynamic duo. And then, they fell in love. "Never betray your real feelings.Except when you truly fall in love." "We're partners of the heart, Robin. That's all." Overall, this book was remarkable. It took me on a splendid adventure and taught me many great things. It also made me believe in magic and miracles. Join Robin's fascinating journey and get carried away into an enchanted magical world where anything is possible. "Because there's a little magic - and outlaw - in all of us..." ***Copy courtesy of author Diane J. Reed in exchange for an honest review***
Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies, #2) - Tarryn Fisher My first reaction when I heard that this book was narrated at Leah's point of view. I hated Leah in the first book, The Opportunist. Of course, it is only natural to hate the antagonist when you're reading it at the protagonist's point of view. When a book is narrated by one of the characters, you cannot assume that this character is good and the other is bad. You never know what's going on with the bad ones. They all have reasons for being what they are. Sometimes we like them and sometimes we hate them. This is what I realized when I read Dirty Red.Leah Smith

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) - Colleen Hoover An exceptional, beautiful and mesmerizing read. Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies...Colleen Hoover's novel Hopeless captured me from the very beginning. Hopeless was narrated by Sky, the main character who I believe is the strongest person I've ever read about in contemporary fiction.Meet, Linden Sky Davis "You can't get mad at a real ending. Some of them are ugly. It's the fake happily ever afters that should piss you off." Hoover has managed to create a very strong, flawed and lovable female lead whom I loved and admired very much. Sky was different from all the other characters I've read. Mostly, I found her to be very intriguing because I could not predict her next move. Sometimes her actions irritated and baffled me and that's what I really like about her. I can never predict her.Everything was fine in Sky's world. Until she meets... Dean Holder "Holder is all kinds of confusing and complicated." Sky had perfectly described him. Truly, he was the most complicated character I've ever come across. He has like five different sides to him. Most of which were various scary mood swings. Holder smiles and laughs for one second and the next second he's banging his fists on the door. I found Holder to be like Sky; unpredictable and lovable. In the beginning, Holder did annoy and scare me mainly because of his sudden change in temper but in the end, it turned out that Holder is also one of the most sweetest character I've ever come across.Sky was inexplicably drawn to Holder and believe me even though it sounds very cliche, it's not your typical romance. Beneath all their romance, there is a terrifying mystery tied to it. "And once again in my new world full of heartache and lies, this hopeless boy somehow finds a way to make me smile." The first half the story was all pure fun. Everything was blissful and I had this goofy grin on my face while reading it. That's one of the reasons I loved this book. The goofy grin remained for a long period of time.Holder and Sky seemed perfect to me. They were like two halves of a broken heart. They healed and fixed each other in ways I cannot understand. Sky understood him and his scary mood swings and realized that she also liked him. Holder was also inexplicably drawn to Sky and everything was really perfect. "It's what happens when two people become one: they no longer only share love. They also share all of the pain, heartache, sorrow, and grief." The second half of the story was more intense. More secrets and lies. I'm not going to elaborate these statements. Just trust my rating and read the book and get carried away :)There isn't a single thing that this book didn't have. It was an exceptional read. A lovely, moving read. "Life can't be divided into chapters...only minutes. The events of your life are all crammed together one minute right after the other without any time lapses or blank pages or chapter breaks because no matter what happens life just keeps going and moving forward and words keep flowing and truths keep spewing whether you like it or not and life never lets you pause and just catch your fucking breath." ____________________________________________ My Hopeless reviews Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2)
Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1) - Karina Halle This book was good. It was intriguing, a little bit creepy and damn hilarious! There was once this haunted lighthouse...Our main character Perry, got drunk and broke into the lighthouse. And unfortunately she saw a lot of creepy things...And then she freaks out and bumps into Dex. That's how they meet. So, Perry and Dex team up and go on a ghost hunt inside the lighthouse. I loved Halle's writing mainly due to it's simplicity. Perry and Dex were very humorous and amusing too. This book was really good. It wasn't scary at all. Maybe it was because you're reading it you don't feel the scary factor but I was expecting a lot of it. If this book was a movie, then it definitely would have been scary. This book was something new to me. It had a lot of thrilling and intriguing events. And the last few chapters changed my notions about this book. I was expecting a lot from this book but I'm not disappointed. A well written horror story The Darkhouse is waiting for you...
